So yeah this is it. It is time for the hand off. I bought a new laptop. This is an appreciation post for my old laptop.

He was purchased in October 2021 signifying the beginning of my life as a freshman and ready to tackle whatever challenges coming my way, both in life, and in school. It marked the moment when my life abroad really began to set in motion, and was also my first buddy!

Throughout the years, he has grinded out designs after designs, worked the hours I worked, without ever failing me, or judging me. Just silently, and readily, taking on whatever I threw at him, be it anger, sadness, and joy. He took the bad code I wrote as a rookie that stressed out his CPU, churn out the FPS I needed to experience beautiful stories told from video games or movies, and watch me grow from a boy to a man, from hoodie to suit, through its tiny 720p webcam as I step into the world and create better and more advance things.

5 years passed and he is now scratched, dented, coughed more often, and gets tired easier as I take him outside. He now mostly sits by my window, on a desk, plugged in, waiting for me to come home, to continue doing what I do best.

He knows the world outside is moving fast. Others have faster clock speeds, better graphics card, stay energized for longer; But .. he also knows that I have to keep up, and that one day he can't support me no longer, and will only take up precious space in my luggage as I travel to more places..

He has been through alot, I have been through alot, and he was the silent audience, remembering all my achievements. He was there with me before I met my friends, with me when I failed my first exam, with me on my first job interview, he was there to watch me better myself, he was there with me as I fly to start my dream job. And now .. its time for him to find a new place, helping others achieve greatness : )
