HDMI extension lead problems? Anyone? 98QM7K and PS5 Pro.

hey folks.

I've recently gone from an old LG 4K to TCL and cant get my ps5 to talk to the TCL if ive got an hdmi extension plugged in.

I regularly swap the hdmi in the back of the PS5 between my Hdmi switch and my xreal glasses.

Because of the constant pulling out of HDMI cables im protecting the HDMI port on the ps5 by leaving a 30cm HDMI extension lead plugged in.

This used to work just fine but now I've swapped tvs it wont have it.

(when the xreals get plugged in to the hdmi extension all still works)

If I remove the extension then PS5 talks to the tv fine (by way of the hdmi switch).

tried 2 different 8k rated hdmi extensions - no joy.

wondering if anyone had experienced anything like this or had any suggestions as to what might be up before I go to TCL.
