Unsure on how to feel on response from potential supervisor

I emailed two potential supervisors (part of the same project) registering interest in a project that I am interested in. I gave my academic background - it is a different field but not drastically different.One supervisor stated that they looked forward to understanding my background and at my thesis proposal meanwhile, the primary supervisor stated if I meet the eligibility criteria I should apply. That’s it. I am not sure how to feel about that response. I still have applied but I am not sure if that was a brush off.
