Advice on how to document changes in surname spelling

Citizenship by Descent

I'm applying as a G6 with lineage from Quebec. My documentation is solid, but my G0 and G1 have 6 different spellings for their surnames in the various records I have for them. I have read the FAQs and realize this was very common and they are definitly the same people. The last name is Foiser on the G0 baptismal record, Foisey on his marriage record, Fussy, Fussey, and Fizee on census records for my G1, and Fuzzy on my G2's birth record. My question is how should I go about documenting the spelling changes, just list them in the cover letter (i.e. John Foiser [Foisey, Fussy, Fussey, Fizee] or list the name spelling used with each document when I list the documents enclosed? Or another way? Any advice or examples of what others have done would be greatly appreciated.
