Handbrake v2 too stiff

I got the Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V2. Everything would be fine, but I’m mounting it on an NLR Wheel Stand 2.0, and when I pull the handbrake, the stand and frame move a bit. Because of that, the handbrake feels way too stiff. (I don’t have space for a proper aluminum rig.)

Maybe someone is using the same setup and can suggest a mod or solution to make the handbrake softer and increase the lever travel?
