I’ve always found I talk better with people the more weird interests we share.

I also find I seem to be able to come with «qualified» tips & recommendations that hits home (artists, hobbies, books etc etc) when the match is good, and vice versa.

For years I’ve thought about making an app where one would matched based on interests alone

Where you add the specific things you love.

Preferably something revealing and specific over a high level category — ie «Radiohead», instead of just «Music»

Then the app finds people whose taste overlaps with yours.

The idea comes from sociology (Bourdieu’s concept of habitus): people who share weirdly specific interests often share something deeper — similar experiences, similar ways of seeing the world. Research backs this up — specific shared preferences predict relationship quality better than shared demographics.

# How it works so far

\- You add up to 50 specific interests

\- It calculates your “Taste DNA” across categories (outdoors, music, food, books, etc.)

\- It finds people with overlapping taste and shows your % match

\- You can connect and chat with your matches

\- Contacts can nominate interests they think you may like

\- AI suggests new interests you might like based on your existing ones

\- Shareable cards of your taste profile

Meh? Maybe? Yes? Be honest 🙏😅
