Did I fk up with my HD600s?

Hey guys! The old earpads of my HD 600s started to unravel so I just ordered myself some Soulwit Cooling Gel pads. They arrived today and little did I know I seemingly have a non-clip-in version of those headphones. They have the "dust filter" "bolted on" and there seems to be a sticky rim around it inside the frame of the earpads to which these old pads were attached. What can I do? The old ones no longer stick to the rim and the new pads dont fit. I can kinda push them into the headphone frame and place them on my head and they kinda work that way (apparently the adhesive works for a few seconds), but a few seconds after I take them off they fall out of the frame. I reckon in a few days the adhesive will have dried out and I can no longer use those ear pads at all anymore. Also the new pads seem to be above the driver since the clip in mechanism sits atop the filter. Compared to the old pads the distance between my ears and the driver is a good amount further, which means everything sounds alot less loud. I tried to find replacement earpads for the version of my 600s, but apparently there are none anymore. Does that mean my 300€+ headphones are useless now? Is there any hope? Just for reference: I bought them in 2022.
