Railjack Lich Confrontation Instance Froze?

Started Lich confrontation in Railjack.
Left multiplayer on, a couple people join and immediately grab controls of the railjack.
Fine, whatever.
Clear the fighters and crew ships.
Galleon shows up, get out and board it.
Doesn't trigger the transmissions from the Lich and the level doesn't open up.
Now the whole instance is froze, can't jump in the pilot seat, can't do anything except exit the craft.
Abort mission with the time wasted.

Is this crossplay or some other known trigger or is it just my bad for not setting myself to Solo before doing this mission?
