I need help with organising (possibly) the last holiday for my father

Hi everyone,

My father got diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia last year but is already sick for some years. He's in the moderate stage and things are getting worse, but so far we can still take a holiday together.

Anyways, me, my sister, and my dad are looking to plan one nice holiday end of may. There is a big chance as that this will be his last holiday as it's very nasty disease that progresses pretty fast, and last year when we did the trip it was already quite difficult.

We are looking into Sicily (my dad loves Italy, especially Italian food) but we might look into something else as we can't find the right accommodation. What we want is something like a resort and a room where we can all stay together in with 3 bedrooms, so far we haven't found something like this. So we are looking outside Sicily and now I want to ask you:

What is your favorite holiday destination of ALL time?

My dad would like something where it's quiet, but you can walk to a town (population of a couple of thousand) with a bakery, some restaurants. Also a beach within walking distance is also highly preferred. And of course, sunny and warm weather!

Is there anything that you can suggest? I feel so much pressure to organize the best holiday ever and would love to crowdsource some tips.
