Buying a Macbook Pro only for it to be an “Ableton Machine”?

[Question]

I’ve been using Windows my whole life, I own a desktop Windows PC and do all my music on it.

That said, I’ve been getting increasingly tired of being “chained” to my desk and been thinking about getting a laptop.

Windows laptops generally suck in terms of quick “plug n play” audio workflow, no core audio, bad headphone outputs, high latency, not to mention no alternative to the M chips with windows laptops. I’ve always wanted a laptop that would allow me simply opening it up and getting to work.

That said, i’m not sure if buying a $2000 laptop is worth it. It feels like a luxury item that’s hard to justify.

What are your experiences in that regard? What would you do in my place? All input is highly appreciated.
