Passed up Senior Manager Position

Hi folks, wanted to get some feedback on my experience with my interview process. I recently have been through the Coinbase interview process and made it pretty far. I got to the "work trial" where they essentially asked me to build out a program and cyber security strategy for their company. I was expected to produce the content, share it, and present it as part of this work trial.

I just can't get past the fact that they never clarified ownership of the content being created and don't offer any sort of compensation for a significant amount of work. So I rejected the final phase of the process.

The work trial just seems shady having no guarantee of any sort of job, compensation, or ownership of the content being created. I guess maybe it's more common in other fields and certain pay grades but never sat well with me. I'm lucky to be in a position where I work remotely and have a decent salary so wasn't desperate or anything but just trying to level set expectations for future opportunities.
