Could Animus Magic bypass Gold Experience Requiem?
WARNING: This post contains spoilers for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind and for Wings of Fire.
So yesterday I finished watching Part 5 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and shortly after that I received via mail my special edition of The Dragonet Prophesy. And that got me thinking: How would something as broken as Animus fare against something as broken as GER? However to begin discussing I feel like we need to know...
What even is JoJo's?
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (or JJBA for short) is a long-running manga series created by Hirohiko Araki and started releasing in Japan in 1987. From there the series would be releasing 8 parts, with the 9th part, The JOJOLands, currently on it's 33rd chapter. The series has received much acclaim throughout its lifetime both due to it's storytelling and artstyle. However, many fans and critics alike would say that Part 3: Stardust Crusaders is when JJBA truly changed, mainly because of the introduction of...
Stands
Stands are manifestations of the user's souls and have many different forms and uses, ranging from humanoid Stands who can control time in any way, shape, or form (more on that later), a suit-like Stand that essentially allows you to swim underground, to CONTROLLING CALAMITY ITSELF. Throughout JJBA's history, Araki has only made even more powers that only get crazier.
Gold Experience (pre-Requiem)
Gold Experience is the Stand wielded by Giorno Giovanna, the main JoJo of Part 5. Gold Experience has the power to imbue inanimate objects to life, which he can use to heal wounds, or even outright replace missing parts of the body. It can also imbue the consciousness of a person it punches with a huge boost. However, the body itself is completely unaffected, so if anything it's a MASSIVE disadvantage. Over the course of the part, Giorno has used his abilities in many innovative ways. However, his power still had limits. At least until later when he unlocked...
Gold Experience Requiem (or GER for short)
GER was unlocked by Giorno during the final battle with the mafia boss Diavolo after Gold Experience stabbed itself with a special Stand Arrow that would grant non-Stand users a Stand (granted if they survived). Though it had a brief appearance, we saw that it had a boosted version of life-imbuing. However, GER is better known for a different ability, that being...
RETURN TO ZERO!!!
Return To Zero makes it so that the actions taken by an opponent never reach the truth. Essentially that means the actions are completely negated. This includes Stands like the aforementioned Diavolo's King Crimson, which allows him to skip time by 10 seconds and only he can move freely within said time. It also put Diavolo in an ETERNAL DEATH LOOP, negating him the truth of death itself. Furthermore, it can nullify the opponent's willpower, rendering them unable to fight back.
Animus Magic
As we all know Animus Magic allows the user to essentially do anything they want, from teleporting entire armies to their respective kingdoms, to putting dragon Lucifer in a coma for 2,000 years, to essentially lobotomizing someone into becoming an entirely different person. Animus Magic can also create golems to do the user's bidding with the effects being ale to last well beyond the user's life as demonstrated by Orca's statue still killing female dragon eggs long after being killed by Coral before the events of Book 2. The only limit it has is that it cannot bring the dead back to life.
What Do I Think Wins?
While Animus Magic is absolutely capable of more than GER, we haven't seen much from it. That's why if we're going from what we've seen so far, I'd say GER completely annihilates Animus Magic. However I want to know...
