Going to visit Shivamogga in April
Hi everyone,
My family and I will be visiting your beautiful city this April to attend a wedding. We’re coming from North India, and I’ve been following this sub for a while to learn more about the place and its culture. I did come across a few posts mentioning some concerns around regional differences, and while I completely understand that these conversations usually reflect only a small section of people, I just wanted to ask respectfully and in good faith.
We truly want to be mindful and courteous visitors. Would it be okay if we used Google Translate to communicate with locals, for example with taxi/cab drivers or at shops, if there’s a language barrier? We absolutely don’t want to cause any inconvenience or appear insensitive in any way.
I would also really appreciate any suggestions on:
Must-visit places or experiences for a short 3-day stay
Local food or cultural experiences we shouldn’t miss
Things we should avoid doing (any cultural etiquette tips would be very helpful)
Additionally, if anyone could recommend a nice, relaxed place to enjoy a couple of beers (preferably somewhere comfortable for couples), that would be great.
Thank you in advance for your time and suggestions. We’re really looking forward to visiting and experiencing the warmth and culture of your city respectfully.
