What do you have as a working surface?

I’m going to repurpose some kitchen lowers into a workstation. I plan on using some 3” locking casters to make it mobile, but I don’t want to use the laminate countertops. I’m leaning towards 1/2” MDF, but I worry about water damage from grinding.

What’s your primary work surface? Do you wish you had something different? In a perfect world, what would you want?
