Help! I need to know if I’m at fault for my pup still not really understanding potty training!

For background- we picked him up on Valentine’s Day- some may remember (he got a lot of love on this page when I posted him!🧡 ) he just turned 2 months old 5 days ago.

He has been sleeping in his crate every night and we have been trying our hardest to have him nap in the crate during the day- we only keep him on our laps when he really wants snuggles!

We recently left him in his crate while running some errands for about 2 hours and he peed in his crate, no biggie but I felt so bad! I think he worked himself up so much that he just couldn’t control it. He is a whiner in the crate and we have a Blink cam on him while we’re gone to check to see how long it takes for him to soothe himself.

He has had some success stories- like whining at me and walking to the door when he had to go. But that is not frequent.

He has recently been peeing sooo much in the house, and I can’t understand why. I always take him out immediately after an accident- even if he has clearly peed all he can inside- just to get the point across. We use a clicker when he goes outside to help with the repetition.

He has only had 2 poop accidents in the house thus far 🤞

I initially used a “potty spray” for outside so he knows where to go. But that’s not my issue anymore; he always pees when he’s outside, just frequently still pees inside as well, and he doesn’t seem to care.

What else can I be doing? Do I need to just keep a better eye on him? He only really shows signs when he has to poop😩

Shoot it to me straight! I want to catch this before it’s too late
