What should I do after becoming an Affiliate?

After my first month of streaming, I finally became an Affiliate, but now I have some questions. How do I configure ads to prioritize community and stream quality? Does Twitch recommend more to Affiliates? During my very first Affiliate stream, I noticed fewer viewers and less activity than usual. Was this a coincidence, or was it due to poorly placed ads?
