Already legally separated, how much are divorce costs
I've already been through, and badly burnt, by a lengthy separation process. Lost my house and settled on having my kid 2/3 of the time. Now, we got 70+ pages in the separation document dictating what each of can and cannot do...
Would love some advice on a few things here:
- Got the separation 3 years ago, is it long enough now to apply for divorce?
- Who pays for divorce here - if I'm the one asking for it, do I have to pay 100% of it?
- And what are the divorce costs I'm looking at, since we already have a legal separation document? I checked online, but it seems a bit confusing as most websites talk about unresolved issues and possibilities that have already been resolved in my case.
- Also, I hated the lawyer I went with, she was more concerned about getting the 'right that I deserve' that ended up costing me a whole lot more than I had thought. I told her that I was ready to settle on a few factors, but she kept pushing... Can divorce be done without a lawyer, or would I need to lawyer up again?
