Chinonso’s “My Shepherd King” wasn’t born in a polished studio… it was scribbled on a crumpled notebook during a lunch break. The song started with a heart that is still chasing God’s call while going through the routines of a daily job.

Have you ever felt like your idea of love is shifting with every social media post, news story, or cultural trend? That was the exact situation that Chinonso was wrestling with when he wrote the lyrics for this song.
The song challenges us to examine what shapes our understanding of His Love. Culture loves conditionally, but Christ loves us sacrificially. This contrast in “love” invites us to reflect on our definition of love and to check whether it aligns with Biblical truths or worldly trends.

Lines like *“You are my peace, You are my song”* remind us that He carries us when we don’t have enough strength left to stand on our own. The chorus calls God the *“Mighty God, Lover of my soul… My Shepherd King.”* It reminds us that God knows every part of our heart, every thought in our minds… , and that every part of us belongs to Him.

Don’t let social media, the news, or the people around you warp your understanding of love. May this song redirect your heart to Christ’s unwavering grace. Take a few minutes today to give “My Shepherd King” a listen, and remind you that even in the middle of your busy days, you are held and loved by our Lord and Shepherd King.
