I remember seeing a discussion (can’t remember which app) where someone questioned why some yuri couples seem to have dynamics that look similar to yaoi couples.

Not just personality-wise, but visually too —

I’m not sure how to fully explain it, but it’s like the pairing mirrors certain yaoi tropes, just with two girls.

Do you think that’s actually a thing?

If so, why do you think it happens? Is it just common storytelling shorthand, audience expectations, or something else?
