48 Hour Credit Card Seating Availability

What's the seating availability been for those of you selecting seats 48 hours in advance of your flights? I have the personal Plus card, as well as the Premier business card. So I should have choices of Standard and Preferred seating.

I have a family of 4, including a 4 year old and a lap child, so ideally we would like our own row. I'll probably just pay up so I can select seats, as it's probably not worth taking the chance that we get separated. But I wanted to see what others experience has been with seating availability 48 hours from takeoff.
