Any Advice Would Be Appreciated.
I’m seeking advice from women here, as I value your perspectives on this sensitive topic. Please be kind I’m trying to navigate this with respect and understanding.
My wife and I have been married for 10 years and for the past 3 years, our marriage has had no sexual intimacy at all. It was weighing on me heavily, so I finally built up the courage to ask her why. She opened up and said she’s been dealing with vaginal dryness due to perimenopause, which has made things uncomfortable for her, and she knows she needs to see a gynecologist to get help but hasn’t yet. She also mentioned that life has been so overwhelming lately with work, family, and everything else that she just hasn’t been in the mood for a long time.
I completely get where she’s coming from, and I want to support her through this. But on my end, I’ve been struggling with feelings of rejection: like maybe she’s mad at me, or I’m completely unattractive to her now, or even worse, that she might have found an outlet elsewhere (though I have no evidence of that it’s just my insecurity talking). Am I wrong or unreasonable for feeling this way? And is there a gentle, effective way we can work together to rebuild our sex life, once she’s addressed her health concerns? Any insights or similar experiences would mean a lot. Thanks in advance.
