Anyone specifically avoiding AI Features in IDE?
4YOE working on .NET full-stack apps, but just wanted to open a discussion about using built-in AI features in IDEs. We've been avoiding them and even in personal projects I haven't wanted to give agents direct access to my code out of a fear of it refactoring large parts to the point it becomes spaghetti. I do use AI but for specific use cases when needed by just talking to ChatGPT, which has worked well so far.
However it feels like most other people are boasting about the benefits of using Claude Code and how that's becoming the new norm. I did an interview yesterday where I was specifically encouraged to use built-in AI features within an IDE while debugging a test project. I don't think I'm necessarily at risk of falling behind because I understand the codebase, but I do wonder if I'm holding myself back...?
