Need advice on whether this beaver skull is salvageable
Hello everyone,
An acquaintance of mine tried to prepare this beaver skull. As you can see, the result is more than questionable 😅. I won’t go into all the details, but to give you an idea: instead of using dermestid beetles, she used mealworms to clean the skull and then soaked it in 3% hydrogen peroxide while not all the tissue had been removed.
Since I practice taxidermy, she asked me if I could do something about it. The problem is that when it comes to skulls and skeletons, I only know the theory (and even that, only vaguely), and I have no practical experience in this area. So successfully fixing this skull is likely to be complicated…
I’m therefore turning to those of you who have experience: do you think this skull can be salvaged? If so, how would you go about it?
Thank you in advance for your replies!
