29M – Feeling stuck in my fitness journey. Anyone been through something similar?

My fitness journey over the last 4 years has honestly been a rollercoaster.

I started at F45 about 4 years ago and stayed for around 2 years. During that time I got to my leanest, felt great, and also picked up running. I ran a few half marathons with decent times and was in probably the best shape of my life.

Eventually I got bored and switched to CrossFit. I did that for about 6 months, but the class times didn’t work well with my 8:30–5 schedule, so I stopped.

After that I tried a conventional gym, but I always feel lost when I’m there. I don’t really know what I’m doing, and I struggle with the self-motivation to go consistently without structure or coaching.

About 4 months ago I rejoined F45 thinking it would reignite things, but I’m just not enjoying it anymore. I also haven’t run in almost a year. Now I’m at my heaviest — even heavier than when I first started 4 years ago — and feeling pretty stuck.

I want to get stronger, but traditional gyms don’t seem to work for me unless I have a PT, and that cost adds up quickly. F45 worked before because it felt like I was getting some PT benefit at a lower price point, but it’s not clicking this time around.

Has anyone else been through something similar?

How did you find something that stuck long term — especially with a full-time 8:30–5 job?

Would really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences.
