looking for old anime (70s-90s maybe)

there was a good team and a bad team. each had an alien princess. the bad team had 2 men, the good team had a boy and girl. the boy was an inventor with a crush on the girl. when fights would happen he would run away or get taken out and come back as his secret alter ego hero (maybe rose themed?) that the girl had a crush on and save the day. then the hero would run away, the real guy would come back and get scolded for being weak and useless again. I think the two princesses were blonde with racing bodysuits. green for the good one and purple for the evil one. The princess names were days I think, but that might be a translation choice.
