Undergrad SIP With Gap in mid-July?

Hi all,

I applied for an SIP and am currently reaching out to PIs. I have a scheduling conflict which means I am unavailable about ~3ish weeks late June-mid July. I was discussing this with some of the PIs, as my hope is to start an SIP early, have a gap, and then return to the SIP for the rest of the summer. Does anyone know if this has been done in the past?
