I’m really tired of the “the joys of homeownership” response

Husband and I bought our first home back in October. We knew things would pop up unexpectedly and it’s a constant project and all of that stuff. The things that have popped up the last few months have not surprised us at all and we saved for years so we can afford the unexpected expenses. But any time someone asks how the house is going and I say it’s great so far. They ask if we had any major problems and I say not that may. We had to replace a pipe in the basement, replace the oil tank, learn how to deal with oil heat in the winter etc. Now we have possible a sewer backup in the basement all of it seems like typical homeowner stuff. But without fail their response is “the joys of homeownership” and it’s like why is that the go to response to problems or fixes you have to do as a homeowner? I just find it condescending.
