Cow uniques are painful
This boss is an amazing update. its great for teaching new players. its something to do for f2p players.
2 out of 3 uniques being p2p are a slap in the face to the (yes, small, but...) incredibly dedicated f2p player base.
Are we really concerned about the cow slippers being botted? did anyone, at any point, believe they would hold enough real value to be a drop that makes a f2p player rich? I dont really think so. Why do they need to be tradable AT ALL? They were destined to be a 10k-20k drop to begin with, if even that. Would it really be damaging to the games integrity to give f2p players a REALLY fun and cute drop to grind for? do we really care if the 15k drop is a 5k drop because of inevitable bots? Seriously...
I have the same arguments about the Beef pet. It just feels ridiculous. This boss is content that is made for and entirely centered around f2p. this would have been an amazing opportunity to really kick start the runescape addiction for new players, and an incredibly cool achievement for the very dedicated f2p player base to grind for. ONE (1) pet being available to f2p from a LEVEL 38 boss, in my opinion, would not have been a hit to the games integrity, I genuinely think it wouldve been beneficial to the game as a whole. if we REALLY had to keep the pet p2p, then it should've gone solely into the hard mode drop table, as an appropriate achievement for p2p. As is, any p2p player not at the absolute top of their game (hard mode) is going to grind out their ~1k kills, 5-10 seconds per kill and drop the content in a couple days to a week, its a total waste of time after that.
Fantastic update. genuinely, thank you, Jagex. Seriously, i mean it. but what the hell, man. :(
