TrimUI Brick crashing while playing GBA games

Problemđź›

Hello all. At the risk of this post getting obliterated like almost every time I post in a small subreddit asking for help or advice, I come seeking guidance with an issue where my brand new TrimUI Brick that I received just a few days ago is frequently crashing while playing GBA games.

I ordered the device from LITNXT. It arrived Sunday - 4 days ago as of this post. I transferred over a Pokemon ROMhack called Dreamstone Mysteries (it's really good, if you're into that sort of thing, highly recommend) and for all of Sunday and Monday and the first half of Tuesday, the game was playing fine. Then, while I was in a random wild Pokemon battle, the screen froze and the buttons became unresponsive. After a few seconds, the Brick crashed and rebooted, killing about 45 minutes of progress.

I thought this may have happened because I was tapping the power button to put into sleep mode - or whatever - rather than shutting it off fully. Alas, even after making sure to save and shut off the device fully before booting it up, the device continued to crash at random points after about an hour, at increasingly tight intervals. After 2 crashes within 10 minutes, I gave up. I was too frustrated and disillusioned to try other games, but this morning my girlfriend tried to play another ROMhack which came pre-loaded with the device (Pokemon Blazed Glazed), and the Brick did indeed crash within an hour or so. So, it's not just a faulty ROM.

I'm now trying to transfer files from the SD card I was sent onto another SD card, which is taking forever, but some file in the Data folder consistently causes the card to disconnect from my PC when trying to do the transfer. I haven't identified specifically what file yet - I'm skipping that folder for now - but it seems like I won't even be able to get all the necessary files off this card to try a different one.

I have already emailed LITNXT support, but after a day without an answer, I'm seeking additional help while I wait. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.
