I need someone to convince me
HI. Ive recently started going crazy, like actually crazy, over my monitor choice when buying my PC. In the beginning of November 2025, my parents bought me a new PC with these specs that I chose:
Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB 6000mhz RAM, 2tb gen 4 NVME, RTX 5070.
I wanted a pc that would get a lot of fps in competitive games, and that would be good in VR. I mostly play competitive games, so you youd never see me playing with an Oled or anything other than a 1080p monitor, I will never change from 1080p.
Now here is the thing. I got to choose a monitor with my PC as well. At the time I really wanted to try out a Zowie monitor, because its known for esports and I was curious about the Dyac 2 thing. I had 2 choices at the time that I was interested in. The Zowie XL2546X, 240hz, Dyac 2, or the Acer Nitro XV242F 540 Hz. I ended up going with the Zowie. Now im starting to panic and im frustrated thinking that I made the wrong choice, because both monitors cost the same (around 550 USD), and because I get 500+fps in CS2, and 600+fps in Valorant, so I can actually get everything out of the 540hz.
I really need someone to convince me that I didnt make the wrong decision, and that my Zowie 240hz monitor is fine. I think im just overall overwhelmed because of how high refresh rates have become recently. It makes me feel like my 240hz is outdated or no longer good enough.
Pleaseeeeeeee someone tell me that im just stupid and an idiot, and that my 240hz monitor is perfectly fine and great and that 540hz is not neccessary at all. I love my Zowie monitor, just to be clear, I just feel like I made the wrong choice, especially considering my pc can handle 540+fps and that the prices for both monitors is the same.
Sry for my yapping.
