what version of the ps3 plays ps2 Games?

Was thinking about getting a ps3 because I have a large collection of the Guitar hero / Rock band for the ps2 and I was considering getting a 3 to finish off my collection. Did they make this version that plays ps2 games in diff colors or like the super slim or anything like that? let me know
