How uncomfortable is too uncomfortable for a binder?
Hi! I’m nonbinary and have wanted a binder since I was like 12 because I’ve always hated my chest, and I finally got my first one from gc2b (my excuse was that I’m playing a male character in a musical) and I’m obsessed with it!! I’ve never felt this good about my appearance literally ever in my life. I looked at the sizing chart on the website and got a large, which was interesting because I’m a medium in most clothes, but fine.
It is pretty comfortable, but I’m wondering how much discomfort is normal and expected. I’m assuming it’s not gonna feel like, totally perfect? The first thing that made me nervous was that the little notecard in the package said that I shouldn’t have ANY difficulty putting it on, which is like???? It wasn’t DIFFICULT at all, but it was certainly a little harder than putting on a normal tank top. I CAN take a full deep breath easily, but it does take the slightest bit more effort. But again, I still physically am fully able to take a complete deep breath and it’s like, only SLIGHTLY more laborious. It doesn’t dig into my skin at all either, I’m not dizzy, and there’s zero pain, just a little discomfort.
My biggest concern is that my main reason for buying this right now is for a musical, and I have a song where I dance VERY intensely. We open in two weeks, so I’m hoping I can stretch it out a little in that time? I also have boob tape that I can use as a backup. Should I return the binder altogether and size up, keep it and just not wear it for the show/rehearsals, or is it fine?
Thanks!
