Safe To Cross Washington/Canada Border?

Hello all, I tried to post this on a different subreddit about the us Canada border but it got removed by mods with no explanation, I'm guessing because it mentions 🧊. Perhaps it's safe to post it here, please let me know if it's not.

My partner from Colorado is going to be visiting me here in Washington for a little over a week in March. I was thinking about taking him to Canada as I spent a lot of time there growing up on the border here in Washington.

My partner and I are both legal citizens, born and raised in our respective states, but my partner is Mexican, and with the current political climate and 🧊 activity, I'm nervous if there's heightened activity around the border.

Just curious if anyone can lend some advice, personal experiences, legal expertise, or if it's worth it to even try going.
