Narcissist traits in the workplace

Just in general curious on some of your opinions? I have unfortunately worked with some extremely narcissistic managers and coworkers in the workplace. I always wondered what they are like as parents. Is it possible for some people to act this way at work essentially playing the cut throat office politics game. And totally drop it at home? Whenever I hear that these people are having kids or have kids I feel completely awful for them so hope at-least some of them just play this game at work. I just myself couldn’t imagine being able to turn that on and off.
