Disconnects

I'm a new player, played a few games. In literally every single one of my games where I didn't have five friends for the team, at least one random teammate disconnected halfway through the game. In most cases we were down 5-10k souls but far from losing the game, and in a few our souls were dead even but that particular player just wasn't having a good game (if their k/d is an indication) and decided to throw the match. Maybe I'm misreading the situation, but it very much made me want to stop playing the game. Every time someone disconnects, we go from an even push/pull to losing, or from losing to getting steamrolled. I consistently come out with higher player damage compared to most of my team, more items and souls so I really don't think the problem is me feeding the enemy team (I try hard not to) or otherwise throwing the match. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm certainly not a good player, I just did my research with deathly and other guides. Putting this here to open up a talk about it, maybe get advice on compensating for a missing player or having a different mindset?
