How do I re-socialize my Leo?

My Leo is about 8 years old now, and for a while, I did the wrong thing by not handling her. I lived in a household for about 2 years that I felt unsafe handling her in, but I did try to play with her through the glass. Shes my first reptile, and I fear I’ve been a bad Leo mom in the sense that I haven’t done a good job at socializing her. Any tips on how to get her to like being held again?..
