Impossible time figuring out hotels

Help!

There are so many conflicting statements on the hotels in Kaua’i. We (30’s M&F) are planning a five day trip to Kauai’i in mid May. Everyone says 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay is amazing, but it’s so expensive. We don’t have kids and will have a rental car. We want someplace we can relax at when we aren’t exploring we found a deal where the Grand Hyatt and Ko’ Kea are around the same price. Which is better though?? Thank you in advance.
