Dirt(and one litter) rollers

General

TLDR; My ex-street cat likes to roll in dirt and I am wondering if there is a way I can safely simulate this experience for him.

My grey boy, Oliver, LOVES to roll in dirt outside. The shelter that I adopted him from gave me a folder of papers with information about him and somewhere on there stated that he had been given to the shelter by a couple that caught him from an alley behind their house and they didn’t want to keep him because he was ‘crazy’ and kept trying to get outside (duh).

Anyway, he sneaks out sometimes and always comes back covered in dirt, dust, leaves and other grime on the ground outside, and one of my mom’s kittens LOVES to roll in my cat’s litter box (it’s in my room where only he has access to) as well as the other litter-boxes when the litter is fresh. So I was wondering if I should set up a dust-bath (like for a chinchilla) for them to roll in, what I can do to prevent particles getting into their respiratory system etc. Thank you!
