Album ranking

About to attempt the impossible. Gonna try to rank the albums. My favorites are always changing because that’s how good Mr Wests albums are. Curious to hear other peoples thoughts and lists.

1. Graduation

Basic answer but one of the most insane front to back runs of all time. Flashing lights is one of my favorite songs ever, such a unique sound.

2. TLOP

Maybe a hot take but I love the concept of Saint Pablo, Picasso, and Escobar. And the era is so iconic, gives me amazing flashbacks to 2016 and the Yeezy drop era. Nostalgic and timeless. Waves will play at my wedding.

3. Yeezus

So ahead of it’s time. So many messages that are mainstream today, new slaves is so relevant in the present day and the sounds on this are some of the most unique I’ve ever heard in hip hop.

4. MBDTF

feels like an abomination to have it this low but that’s just how good his music is. Such an impressive bounce back from everything happening at the time. All of the lights will be enjoyed 100 years from now. Probably his most “perfect” record by industry standards

5. College dropout

Again, crazy for this to be so low since it’s definitely in my top 10 favorite albums of all time. I dropped out myself and this album got me through it, to me this is the greatest debut album of all time.

6. Late registration

Heard em say, touch the sky, drive slow, roses, addiction, diamonds, Gone… nuff said. Gold digger was the first Kanye song I ever loved, I was 4 years old when it came out and can still remember listening to it at that age and how it made me feel

7. YE

In my personal top 3 but simply couldn’t justify any of the above albums being any lower

8. 808’s

Probably his most influential album, I know I’ll catch heat for having it this low but again just couldn’t put any of the above lower. No skips album. Ahead of its time.

9. WTT

Unfathomable that someone’s discography can be so good that WTT can be number 9 on a list like this, again probably another no skip album. Would be the best album in 99% of other rappers discography

10. Jesus is King

personally this album ranks higher for me but I’m trying to be objective. Absolutely love that the greatest artist of our generation made an entire gospel album, I recently started following Christ myself and I’ve been leaning on this album and the other Sunday service shows. Christ is King fr.

11. Kids see ghost

I know this is in a lot of people’s top 5 but it was one of the albums I was never crazy about, that being said it’s definitely phenomenal

12. Donda

A few misses, some absolute home runs, still in rotation

13. Vultures 2

Actually slept on, I enjoy a lot of the songs on this album

14. Vultures 1

Pretty good, never got way into it but certainly isn’t a miss. I personally thought Carnival was overrated

15. Donda 2

Havent listened to it a ton, curious if anyone thinks there’s any gems on there that they wanna put me on to.

Can’t wait to hear everyone else’s thoughts! Let me know where you agree and disagree
