Guest took a photo of my empty desk while I was helping them and wrote a review about “the level of service” 💀

Short

So picture this.

Nearly sold out night. It’s around 8pm. The vibes are already “we have exactly 2 rooms left and they both hate humanity.”

Guest comes down furious because the room they were assigned earlier in the day is “too loud.” (Not my shift, not my placement.)

They demand a quieter room.

I check availability. I have exactly two rooms left. And I tell them, honestly:

“I completely understand wanting something quieter, but the only two rooms I have available tonight are actually two of our louder locations.”

Because… facts.

They then demand I speak to a manager to see “what the options are.” They also ask if they can check out early and go to another hotel without penalty.

I say sure, I’ll go ask.

I step to the back office. To speak. To. The. Manager.

Tell me why these people take a full photo of my empty front desk and later post a review saying:

“This is the level of service you get.”

And claim I “refused to help” and only offered them the option to leave the hotel.

Sir.

Ma’am.

You literally asked if you could leave without penalty. I said I would ask.

That is… helping.

Here’s the plot twist though:

In their review they also say they “left elsewhere to find something quieter.”

They are still in-house.

AND they sent a chat later saying, “We apologize to Salma for bothering her and no need to bother the manager anymore.”

Meanwhile my manager tried multiple times today to reach out to move them to a quieter room (since AM had availability). They are now refusing to answer.

So to recap:

• I “refused to help.”

• I disappeared (to speak to management).

• They “left.”

• They are still here.

• They apologized privately.

• They won’t answer management now.

Hospitality is a social experiment.

Anyway. If you need me I’ll be standing at my desk making sure no one photographs me blinking.
