Itch.io may not be your demographic!

I recently released a game for a game jam and was surprised the itch.io algorithm never really picked it up. I've had projects in the past that did well on itch and got hundreds of views and plays in the first few days from itch clicks but the most recent one was sitting at like 3-4 clicks from itch and never really made it onto any of the main pages.

Today I made a reddit post on a page talking about the new game and had hundreds of players in just a few hours and like 80 comments on a thread of people asking for mobile versions and saying how much they liked it.

Just making this post to say to all you guys who are struggling to get views and plays on itch that the itch demographic may just not be where your players are so don't get discouraged!
