While I have had the Thor since it launched (I got it first batch, Nov 6th), I haven't had a lot of opportunities to sit back and really admire what this device truly means.

sure, I was awed in its presence. I drooled during its announcement. I spent weeks in # Thor-Shipping with countless other impatient goblins as we pressed Nicole for answers, waiting for our number to be called. clambering over every bit of information we got. I was there for CustomGate. I still remember smiling ear to ear when my girlfriend watched me rip into the box like a kid on Christmas day.

But once the setup was complete. Once the hype had died down. After all the showcasing, and tests were done. There was a moment of clarity for me. It wasn't perfect, but it was as close to perfect as we could get. I toiled around, messing with various platforms, games, front-ends. I hopped from title to title, with Paper Mario 64 being the longest stretch of a streak I had, around 20 hours. But it still felt... incomplete. Like something was missing. Months went by, trial and error failed to find that missing puzzle piece. Until tonight. When I was propped up in bed trying for the billionth time to get Fallout 3 to work. It would be naive of me to lie, and say that it wasn't one of the first titles I tried to get working. It lingered in my mind for months.

Tonight was an explosion of joy. After months of fighting with GameHub, GameHub Lite, and GameNative, I finally got it working. Not just booting, but playing at a seemingly perfect state. load times were non-existent. frame rate was smooth. Textures held together. Audio was clear! It was like a major breakthrough for me. As if I solved all of the world's problems, all in one night. A childhood DREAM. All realized by this tiny little device... Fallout 3 was such a huge part of my childhood, and little young me would dream of the day that, no matter where I am, I could play one of my favorite games on the go.

Here I am. On the precipice of adventure. Ready to step foot in a world all too familiar to me. All with this little device. 15 years ago, I would have never believed it.

This is it. I have nothing left that I could want. I'm taking a step back. Stepping away from a market I've loved being a part of for the last 3 years. Rooting for everyone left to find the same magic that I found.

The End Game.

I have ascended to the very dreams of my childhood.
