Gree Flexx/Mr Cool Universal - possible to achieve two speeds on air handler?

I know both of the subject units are single-speed air handlers, allowing you to choose from 1 of 8 speeds with dip switch settings, but with no way to switch between those speeds without opening the unit up to change the switches.

Has anyone figured out a way to access two different speeds on these air handlers with relays or another creative means?

I'd like to be able to switch between two different speeds depending on which zones I'm running or whether I'm heating or cooling.
