Moving from off-base to on-base housing – does the military assist?

My spouse is active duty Army and we were recently approved for on-base housing after being on the waitlist. We’re currently renting off base at the same duty station.

For those who’ve done this before, does the military cover or assist with a move like this, or is it considered a local move that we’re responsible for?

If it’s not covered, are we allowed to hire civilian movers? And are they generally able to access the installation without issues?
