Seeking a Work-Focused Laptop for WFH - Third Time’s the Charm (Proofread 14 Times)

Laptop Request US
  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: $1000. There is more there if we have a screaming deal that's too good to pass up, but otherwise lets stick to under $1000
  • Are you open to refurbs/used? Absolutely, given warranty, reliability, etc.
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? I just don't want to overpay for something that isn't what I need. Build quality and performance would probably be the most important, with form factor following closely and battery life not being paramount, but always important. I'll work from home a decent amount but will also take my laptop out to appointments.
  • How important is weight and thinness to you? Not very, maybe 4/10?
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. Not really a preference on screen size, but I would like for the computer to have a number pad but also not be too massive because it'll still need to fit in a backpack.
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. not really, but my industry has a specific program that has the following minimum requirements:
    • A quad-core x64-bit processor (examples: Intel Core i5 or Core i7, Snapdragon, AMD A10 or FX)
    • OpenGL 4.1 compatible graphics with 4 GB of VRAM and latest drivers
    • 16 GB of RAM or more. Since this will be the hub of my small business, it'll need to multitask some. I'd be ok with bumping this up if needed.
    • 30 GB of continual free space and a solid-state drive, I think a 512GB SSD here unless you think differently. I will need a decent amount of storage for reports, photos, etc, but cloud storage also exists.
    • Monitor resolution set at 1920x1080 with 100% scaling or set at a similar or higher quality.
    • Has to be Windows.
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? All work, no play here.
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
    • Touchscreen would be nice
    • A number pad because I do a decent amount of math and data entry
    • A decent amount of inputs for desk set up. I'll get a hub if necessary but connecting straight to the laptop would help prevent input lag from mouse, keyboard, etc. I will also be using a digital camera to transfer photos when away from my desk.
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I just wanted to thank you all for your help and suggestions. I'm sorry about deleting my last 2 posts. There were errors that needed fixing and I didn't want to clutter up the feed with bad posts. This is the last one, promise.
