Outside Finland, saunas feel like a spa or wellness thing. Here, they’re… infrastructure.

Most homes have one. Apartment buildings have them. Gyms have them.

Even random buildings have them.

It’s normal to have a weekly “sauna turn” in your apartment building where you book a time and go use the shared sauna.

It’s not a special occasion. It’s not a treat. It’s routine like doing laundry or taking a long shower.

When I first moved here, I thought sauna culture would feel fancy.

Turns out it’s just part of daily life.

For people in Finland, how often do you use the sauna? For everyone else, is sauna even a thing where you live?
