CycleOps Magnus trainer - has it always been loud?

I've had this CycleOps Magnus indoor bike trainer for several years now. I do not remember it being as loud as it is now when I first got it, though.

The sound is loud enough to quickly and completely fill a large room. Even behind a closed door, its sound carries throughout our (2000+sf) house.

It's loud and buzzy/squeaky. It's made this sound for a while now, but this morning it felt much louder - though it's admittedly been like 8 months since I really last used it before today.

Should I be oiling it somehow?
