Question about Valve Cover

So- thought I fixed my ongoing check engine light by changing the PCV valve, however mechanic told me my engine is leaking at the valve cover.

MINI wants $1300 (!!!) for the job. Looks easy enough and OEM part is only $400.

Question I have is - is there something else I should check or replace once I have the cover off?
