No tea or dairy products for 2 weeks before surgery?

I’m not asking for medical advice, I’ll be calling the doctors office about this. I’m just curious if you ever heard of this or was told about this because I never was and neither was my husband. I was going over the things the doctor told me not to take a week to 2 weeks before surgery like herbal supplements and nsaids and aspirin. They listed nothing about things to eat or drink. But when I was reading online I saw green tea supplements should be avoided. Then I thought about the green decaffeinated tea I drink daily so I looked that up on the medical sites and it’s it should be avoided. Then some say black tea should also be avoided but othered said black tea is fine just not with caffeine which I never use. Some said no dairy products either. I’ve never heard of that and I know when I had my spinal cord tumor surgery and when Bryan had surgery they never mentioned any of that except after midnight the night betgor surgery. Anyone hear of this? After seeing green tea since they did say no herbal supplements and that would include green tea supplements, it would make sense about green tea even though indict consider it an herbal tea. But black tea is just tea. It gives me indigestion though which is why I switched to green. I’ll have to call and find out but I was just curious if anyone was told not to drink any tea or dairy products for 2 weeks before surgery. I have always put milk in my tea all my life and in my cereal for breakfast daily and I know I didn’t stop eating cereal or drinking black tea back when I had that surgery. Taking away my Cheerios with milk and my tea with milk and sugar would be really tough since that’s a daily thing for me.
