Suggestions for area with good schools and relatively close to the city?

I'm looking into new construction homes and was trying to get an idea of which areas I should consider.

In order of importance here are things I'm looking for:

1. Very Good school system
2. 20-30min to downtown and easier the commute the better (bus, train, easy drive)
3. Area with diversity and great food.

Not looking to spend like $2m+ on a home or anything crazy, but like $800k-$1.3m.

I've been told mt Lebanon, upper st clair, and swickley are places I should look into. Not sure if one is better then the others. But open to all suggestions.
